You may have read that dogs are allowed on the beach here with a permit. That is true, but it applies to Walton County, home to 30A and Miramar Beach, not to Destin.
Walton County issues an annual dog-on-beach permit to full-time residents and property owners, allowing leashed dogs on the sand during early morning and evening hours, from 3:30 p.m.–8:30 a.m. Vacationers do not qualify, and neither do Destin residents.

Heading east, Panama City Beach maintains a 400-foot dog beach on the west side of the Russell-Fields City Pier, directly across from Pier Park. Use beach access 56 and 57.
